Search & Recovery SSI – underwater search and recovery

Duration: 1–2 days (minimum 2 dives)

The SSI Search & Recovery course teaches you how to search for and recover lost objects underwater, using systematic search patterns , orientation techniques and dedicated equipment. It is a practical specialization, focused on organized work, safety and efficiency, even in conditions of reduced visibility.

What you will learn in the Search & Recovery course:

• planning and organizing a search operation
• use of compass and guide wires
• search patterns: spiral, line, grid, U/J patterns
• object location and marking techniques
• correct use of the lift bag for lifting
• securing and safely retrieving objects
• effective teamwork underwater

How the course is conducted:

• introductory theoretical session
• practical search exercises
• minimum 2 training dives
• detailed debriefing after each dive
