The physiological response to heat stress caused by cold is to reduce blood flow to the extremities and protect the core of the body. Often, cold becomes the limiting factor for the safety and enjoyment of a dive. X-Core provides extreme thermal protection to the core, allowing for longer and more comfortable dives.
Designed to be worn under Arctic, HALO A°R or any other drysuit undersuit, X-Core amplifies thermal protection to the point where, in many situations, electric heating is no longer necessary. Optimal performance is achieved when worn over a lightweight base layer, such as J2 or Xerotherm, but X-Core can also be worn directly against the skin for critical core protection.
Description
The vest's sleeveless design minimizes the impact on buoyancy and overall bulk, especially in the shoulder and arm areas where freedom of movement is essential. The four-way stretch material, combined with the elongated cut, ensures a snug fit, reducing cold spots. The additional chest panel helps minimize cold air ingress from the intake valve and provides additional thermal protection in a key exposure area. The quick-drying material wicks sweat to the outside, keeping the wearer drier and warmer.
